Happy Sunday, crafty friends! I woke up this morning wanting to use the Flower Garden stamp & stencil set. Not only is it 50% off this week at Pinkfresh Studio (along with Floral Vase), but I haven't reached for it in awhile and it is truly a lovely floral background. Be sure to use the code FLORAL50 when you check out, or you won't receive the savings. You can also get all the info on my Crafty Sale page.
I knew I wanted to create a sentiment with alpha letters, and I almost reached for the Jeff Alpha die set. But then I remembered that I had leftovers from our Inna Alpha, so I went through them and grabbed what I could to make the word LOVE. My color palette was born because it was a mix of colors on the letters, and I turned a Q into an O so I wouldn't have to foil and ink blend another set. Lol! Hey - you do what you gotta do sometimes! I totally forgot to blend at least one of the flowers in the background in coral, but it is what it is. I think the flowers on the alphas still match well enough!
Sending Love card
Card size: A2 - 4.25" x 5.5" (inches)
FEATURED PRODUCTS - complete supply list, linked to multiple sources.
Here are the instructions on how to create this card:
- Heat emboss the Flower Garden image in Gilded to white cardstock.
- Ink blend with the coordinating layering stencils.
- Diecut the background with the largest Stitched Rectangle.
- Grab any alphas you might have extras of, or foil & ink blend the Inna Alphas as shown.
- Heat emboss the word sending in Gilded to white cardstock.
- Diecut with the coordinating die, plus two more layers from white cardstock. Stack & glue together.
- Adhere the floral background to a pink A2 card base with a full panel of foam tape.
- Diecut the largest Shaker Heart from vellum and adhere the sentiment to it as shown, popping the letters up with thin foam strips.
- Mount to the lower right corner of the card, then accent the letters with jewels to finish.
TIP: I get asked often what I used to create my full sheets of foam adhesive. I cut down sheets of white craft foam to 3.75 x 5 inches for A2 sized cards, then use 5-inch ScorTape to back each side with adhesive. P.S. There is currently a 5% off coupon available on Amazon for the white craft foam sheets. I don't know how long it will be there, but yay for extra savings!
I've found this to be the most cost effective way to get these big panels of foam adhesive, which makes sure my cards aren't saggy. Because let's be real....no one likes a saggy card. Lol! ;) I also use these thin foam strips on almost every card from Amazon - they are a great price and you get a ton of them!
Before I close up, I wanted to mention that my Crafty Sale page is updated, and I'm also currently work on my FAVORITES page!
