Happy Thanksgiving to my US friends, and happy Thursday to everyone else! As we embark on this day about gratitude, I find myself pondering on how complex & nuanced gratitude actually is. And on days like today you can almost feel shamed if you aren't feeling as grateful as others expect you to be. I'm a firm believer that you have to meet yourself right where you are at, and if gratitude is currently hard for you...that is perfectly okay. Trauma, loss, grief, broken relationships, loneliness, etc...these don't go away on Thanksgiving day. So today my reminder for everyone, myself included, is to just take care of yourself.
Take Care of Yourself card
Card size: A2 - 4.25" x 5.5" (inches)
FEATURED PRODUCTS - complete supply list, linked to multiple sources.
You can watch this card come together on my Facebook Live video below (apparently Facebook has made things more complicated. Of course. I think you might have to click on it and watch it on the Pinkfresh Facebook page), but here is a quick run down of the work flow:
- Step 1 - Stamp the floral image to white cardstock, then leave the stamp in your platform.
- Step 2 - Ink blend the stamp image with the coordinating layering stencils.
- Step 3 - Return to the stamping platform and stamp again in espresso ink.
- Step 4 - Diecut the flowers with the coordinating die.
- Step 5 - Foil the Stained Glass plate in Satin Champagne to white cardstock and the word Friend in opaque white to pink cardstock.
- Step 6 - Trim the Stained Glass panel, and cut the word friend with the coordinating die.
- Step 7 - Diecut a frame from ivory glitter paper using the largest Blanket Stitched Rectangle, and the largest standard rectangle die from the Folk Edge set.
- Step 8 - Stamp the secondary image in espresso and trim into a thin strip.
- Step 9 - Assemble the cards as shown, popping up some elements with foam adhesive.
- Step 10 - Accent with Glitter Drops to finish.
Quick Note: I like to double stamp when I am ink blending over top of a stamped image. I feel like the original stamped image loses its crispness after you ink blend over top of it with multiple stencils. When you return the image to your stamping platform and re-stamp it, the image is crisp again and I think the colors pop even more!
