Happy Friday, crafty friends! It seemed fitting to share this card today, considering a large portion of the country is being hit with extreme, arctic weather conditions right now. It's in the negatives here with even worse wind chill factors...so I am hunkering down for the weekend at home.
I created this card live a few weeks ago on the Pinkfresh Studio YouTube channel, and I really love how it turned out! It features our Wintry Forest stencils from last year's holiday release, paired with all the snowflakes products and the holiday foiled sentiments from this year's release. I love freshening up older product with new, getting that much more use out of it!
Warm Winter Wishes edge to edge shaker card
Card size: A2 - 4.25" x 5.5" (inches)
FEATURED PRODUCTS - complete supply list, linked to multiple sources.
You can watch my card come together on my YouTube Live video below. Here is a quick overview of how to do it, in case watching videos isn't your thing:
- Step 1 - Ink blend the Wintry Forest stencil set in greens & blues.
- Step 2 - Foil the snowflakes in Silver Holographic Speckle foil to white cardstock, then reverse foil the negative piece with the Solid Hot Foil Plate.
- Step 3 - Stamp the Snowflakes Background in Sapphire to white cardstock, then stamp again in embossing ink.
- Step 4 - Cover in clear sparkling embossing powder & heat set.
- Step 5 - Diecut the wintry forest panel with the largest Stitched Rectangle, and the snowflakes with their coordinating dies.
- Step 6 - Create your edge to edge shaker window using leftover clear packaging and a glitter mix to the wintry forest panel. (This is easier explained in the video - jump to 35:26 to see this part.)
- Step 7 - Add the snowflakes to the front, then trim off the excess.
- Step 8 - Adhere the shaker panel to a blue A2 card base using a full sheet fo foam adhesive.
- Step 9 - Add the foiled sentiment to the front with foam tape.
- Step 10 - Accent the middle of each snowflake accent with sapphire jewels to finish.
I get asked often what I used to create my full sheets of foam adhesive. I cut down sheets of white craft foam to 3.75 x 5 inches for A2 sized cards, then use 5-inch ScorTape to back each side with adhesive. P.S. There is currently a 5% off coupon avaialble on Amazon for the white craft foam sheets. I don't know how long it will be there, but yay for extra savings!
I've found this to be the most cost effective way to get these big panels of foam adhesive, which makes sure my cards aren't saggy. Because let's be real....no one likes a saggy card. Lol! ;)
Before I close up, I wanted to mention that my Crafty Sale page is updated, and I'm also currently work on my FAVORITES page! It currently only has my Amazon list, and my must haves for ink & ink blending...but my hope is to have it completley finished by the end of 2022.
