Foiled Holiday card & tag set
Card size: A2 - 4.25" x 5.5" (inches) & Tag 4" x 4" (inches)
FEATURED PRODUCTS - if you love my card & would like to purchase any of the products I've used, I would love for you to shop from my links! I earn a small commission at no cost to you, allowing me to contribute to our finances. I appreciate this gesture more than words can express!
Here are simple instructions on how to create today's card:
- Cut and fold an A2 card base from white cardstock.
- Emboss a panel of light blue cardstock & a panel of white cardstock with the Threaded Snowflakes 3D embossing folder.
- Diecut the snowflake frame from white glitter cardstock.
- Diecut the berry branch elements from aqua cardstock & red glitter paper. Ink blend the leaves with Mermaid Cove ink, then assemble.
- Splatter the blue snowflake panel and the berry branch pieces with bleed proof white paint diluted with a little bit of water. Set aside to dry.
- Diecut the largest Stitched Scallop Circle from aqua glitter cardstock.
- Use the Cozy Cocoa stencils to ink blend the cocoa mug, then use prism paste and glue for the whipped cream & marshmallows. Cover the marshmallows in a glitter mix, then let them dry.
- Foil the sentiments in Crimson Stars foil to specialty paper like glossy photo paper, Yupo paper, or the Spellbinders specialty paper. (Feel free to grab your Solid Hot Foil Plate to foil the leftovers and use on another set!)
- Diecut each sentiment with the coordinating die, plus an extra layer from heavyweight cardstock. Stack & glue together for added rigidity.
- Fussy cut the Cozy Cocoa elements, and adhere together.
- Assemble the card & tag as shown, popping some elements up with foam tape.
- Add red grosgrain ribbon to the tag, and top with a matching bow.
- Accent the card with Ruby Glitter Drops to finish.
TIP 1: When dry embossing with a 3D folder, be sure to look at both sides. I find that I prefer the debossed sides more often than the embossed side, and I used the debossed side on both projects today!
TIP 2: Do you have photo paper in your office that isn't being used? Try foiling sentiments and anything that you don't plan to ink blend or color to it. It gives practically perfect results every time, and the gloss on the paper really makes the foling pop! You can also use Yupo paper, or the specialty Glimmer foiling paper from Spellbinders - they are both very similar to glossy photo paper. You will likely want to add another cardstock layer underneath, as this type of paper is typically a pretty low weight. I used one layer of 130 LB cardstock underneath mine, and they were PERFECT!
