Happy Monday, friends! I taught an online class for the SCT Crop & Create Delivered Cardmaking event this past weekend (this was a paid event, so the class is only accessible to attendees) using the Seamless Floral Pattern layering stencil from Pinkfresh Studio. I was SO inspired by the wonderful time I had in class with all of my students, that I created a different card over the weekend using the same layering stencil set and turned it into a slimline card.
Spring Wishes slimline card
I started by ink blending the Hanging Garden layering stencil set to both ends of a 4.25x11 inch panel of Hammermill white cardstock (this is my go to cardstock for both stamping & ink blending. It is ridiculously smooth and I get great results every time). I used the following ink colors for each stencil layer: Sparkling Rose, Bubble Gum, Lemon Whip, Sweet Mustard, Aquamarine, & Mermaid Cove. Once I finished ink blending, I diecut the panel with the largest Slim Stitched Rectangle.
Next I worked on diecutting my sentiment. I started by diecutting the letters for the word spring 1 time from gold pearl foil paper and twice from 130 LB cardstock using the Lea's Ornate Uppercase, Lea's Ornate Lowercase and Heather Lowercase alpha die sets. Then I stacked and glued them together, leaving the outline layers to use at a later date. Next I diecut the word wishes from our Phrase Builder: Sending die set three times from white cardstock and the shadow layer from vellum. I stacked the word pieces together, then ink blended with the same pink inks used on the stenciling and glued it to the shadow layer.
With all the elements complete, I mounted the stenciled background to a 4x9 aqua cardbase using foam tape. I glued the gold letters to the front, then popped the second part of the sentiment up with thin foam strips. I finished by accenting with our Essentials: Crystals Mix.
That is everything that I have for you today! Before you move along with your day, I wanted to invite you to follow me on social media. I would love to be crafty friends online!
