Happy Saturday, crafty friends! I wanted to pop in and share a card I created for the latest promo at Pinkfresh Studio! I meant to post it yesterday, but I had a lot on my plate with our upcoming release on Monday and my eyes were bothering me. When my eyes are really bothering me, I can't take on any extra screen time. Our promo was a free die with purchase, but I am fairly certain we have depleted the inventory (we had quite a number of them in stock...we had no idea how popular this promo would be). So this post is now inspiration for if you already have the Spring Floral die, or if you were one of the lucky ones to get it free with your order. Lol!
Rainbow Birthday Wishes card
Card size: A2 - 4.25" x 5.5" (inches)
To start I created a top folding A2 card base from aqua colored cardstock. During our Hot Foiling 101 class I showed how you can foil with your dies, giving a subtle foiled look because cut lines are very thin. I foiled our Sparkling Diamonds coverplate die in Aura colored foil as the example that day, so I had a couple of these backgrounds in my pile of foiled goodness. I am trying to shrink that pile, and I thought this subtle foiled background would look perfect on this card! I cut it down with the largest Essentials: Stitched Rectangle die, then mounted it to my card front with foam adhesive.
I created a panel of rainbow stripes using our Slim Stripes die set. Honestly friends, I rarely know what cardstock brands/colors I am using. I have accumulated a ton of it over the years, and I just keep it in rainbow order. This is my challenge to you to use what you have on hand! I diecut the shadow layer of the Spring Floral die from the rainbow striped block, then the top layer a couple times from white cardstock. The top layer is SUPER thin and dainty, so it takes a little time to extract all the chads and to glue the layers together. I suggest just having some patience as you do it, and enjoy the process. I did use a metal shim with this die set due to its intricate nature. I adhered the finished Spring Floral diecut to the bottom of my card with liquid glue.
I also used a sentiment I had already previously foiled as well. This is from our Brushed Sentiments hot foil plates and coordinating die set, which I foiled in Aura colored foil using my Spellbinders Glimmer hot foil system. Did you know that we are now carrying the Glimmer system and Glimmer Foil Rolls in our online shop? We really wanted to give customers the ability to shop in one place for their foil products, reducing your shipping costs if possible. We are currently growing our selection of foil roll colors as Spellbinders has them available for wholesale. (Aura is coming soon...we are just waiting on our order to arrive!! Yay!) Keep in mind that your Glimmer system will not ship from us but actually from Spellbinders, as we are taking advantage of a drop ship program that they offer. I adhered the foiled Birthday Wishes sentiment to the top half of the card with thin foam strips.
To complete the cards, I accented them with our Jewels Mix in the following colors: Bubble Gum, Sky Blue, Peach Fuzz and Glacier.
There will also be more images of this card on my Instagram post, as I have an image limit on my website...and I'm trying to stretch it as far as I can before I have to purchase additional storage. Lol! Thanks for heading to my feed to see more, and allowing me to be a tad frugal. You can also check out my complete supply list below to multiple stores, or CLICK HERE to see it a bit easier. :)
