Any Occasion Hibiscus card set
Card sizes: A2 - 4.25" x 5.5" (inches) & Square 4.25" x 4.25" (inches)
To start I created a top folding A2 card base from bright pink cardstock, and a top folding 4.25-inch square card base from orange cardstock. I set those aside, then stamped and heat embossed the Hibiscus stamp set in Gilded embossing powder to Hammermill white cardstock. I used my Memory MISTI because this stamp doesn't quite fit upright in a standard MISTI. However, it does fit at an angle if you are willing to use a bigger piece of cardstock. OR, you can use the MISTI hack where you put the stamp on the outside of the lid, tape the MISTI down to your surface and use the lid to stamp to paper that is also taped to your surface. (I should probably make a video that I can link you to for this...on my to-do list!) I tend to not break out my Memory MISTI if my desk is too messy, and I will do these two other methods. My desk just happened to be perfectly clean when I created these cards, so I went ahead and used it! If I'm being honest...I find it a tad cumbersome to use, but nice in a pinch. I would purchase a slimline sized MISTI in a second....a girl can dream, right? Lol!
Next I used the Hibiscus layering stencils to ink blend color into all the beautiful florals and greenery. Here are the colors I used for each stencil:
Stencil 1: Sparkling Rose
Stencil 2: Raspberry Bliss
**Both pinks can be found in our Fairy Dust ink cube set
Stencil 3: Apricot
Stencil 4: Clementine
**Both oranges can be found in our Indian Summer ink cube set
Stencil 5: Mermaid Cove
Stencil 6: Tidal Pond
**Both aquas can be found in our Island Oasis ink cube set
Then I used the coordinating 1-piece die to cut all them all out. Next I did the foiling. First I foiled our Nested Hexagons in both Bright Pink and Tangerine foil colors. I'm going to say this right now...the tangerine completely over foils when I use it. I can typically wipe away the excess very easily, but it doesn't make for good reverse foiling with the solid hot foil plate. I just wanted to mention that if anyone else is having this same issue with the tangerine. I haven't been able to figure out a way to fix it, as I'm not using any shims, etc. I also foiled the Nested Circles in Aura colored foil. Finally, I grabbed a sentiment I already had foiled in Bright Pink from our Celebrating You hot foil plate, and cut it out with the coordinating die. I also cut out the Hexagons and Circles with their coordinating dies as well.
Did you know that we are now carrying the Glimmer system and Glimmer Foil Rolls in our online shop? We really wanted to give customers the ability to shop in one place for their foil products, reducing your shipping costs if possible. We are currently growing our selection of foil roll colors as Spellbinders has them available for wholesale. (Aura is coming soon...we are just waiting on our order to arrive!! Yay!) Keep in mind that your Glimmer system will not ship from us but actually from Spellbinders, as we are taking advantage of a drop ship program that they offer.
Next I diecut my white panels for each card using the largest Stitched Rectangle and Stitched Square die. I cut out a shaker window from the square panel using the Inverted Scallop Circle die. I covered the shaker window with heat resistant acetate, then stamped & heat embossed the sentiment from the Dahlia stamp set to the front. I assembled each card as shown, popping many elements up with foam tape for added dimension. I finished by accenting with our Crystals Mix.
There are more images of these cards on my Instagram post, as I have an image limit on my website...and I'm trying to stretch it as far as I can before I have to purchase additional storage. Lol! Thanks for heading to my feed to see more, and allowing me to be a tad frugal. You can also check out my complete supply list below to multiple stores, or CLICK HERE to see it a bit easier. :)
