Happy Saturday, crafty friends! I wanted to pop in today and share a card I created this week on the Pinkfresh Studio YouTube channel. I featured our new Overlapping Triangles stencil set and the Foliage Shaker dies from our July release, along with our Basic Banners: Everyday Sentiments & coordinating die from the June release.
Making a shaker card live is a little daunting, because there are parts of the process that are boring or mundane. But if someone has never done a shaker card, how are they to learn? So I tackled this live, made a couple mistakes, but all in all - I love how the card turned out in the end! I'm not a perfect crafter and I've never claimed to be....I just love sharing what I do know, and troubleshooting through the mistakes I do make. It's all part of the process!
You can watch the replay below, and get more details about today's projects.
Hello Friend shaker card

You can watch the card come together in my YouTube Live video below. Here is a quick overview if you'd rather not watch the live:
- Cut & fold an A2 card base from yellow cardstock.
- Ink blend the first 3 stencils from the Overlapping Triangles set in Coral Reef, Apricot & Lemon Whip.
- Prep the panel generously with anti static powder, then use stencil 4 to blend embossing ink to the design.
- Carefully lift the stencil up, then cover in Gold Pearl embossing powder & heat set.
- Diecut the panel with the largest Diagonal Stitched Rectangle.
- Diecut the solid Foliage Shaker dies from the middle to create your shaker window.
- Use the panel as a jig to adhere the diecut leaves to the card front.
- Adhere acetate to the back of the panel to create your shaker window, then add foam tape generously.
- Add clear iridescent drops to leaves on the card, then adhere the panel over top, making sure the foam tape is securely attached.
- Diecut the Foliage Shaker detail dies three times from ivory glitter cardstock, then multiple times from white cardstock.
- Stack & glue together, then adhere to the front.
- Heat emboss the sentiment to pink cardstock in white, then diecut with the coordinating 1-piece die.
- Layer the sentiment to the front with another ivory glitter layer.
- Accent with clear iridescent drops to finish.
