Happy Saturday, crafty friends! It's been quiet on all cardmaking fronts for me this week. We had to say goodbye to our 18 year old yorkie, Bailey, on Tuesday afternoon and it's been really, really hard. While I know it was the right decision for him because he was struggling and not living a very quality life any longer...it has been devastating for me. Bailey was my first pet, and he has been our constant sidekick for 18.5 years. My days have had very big voids in them, and I just miss that cute little dog so much.
Our cocker spaniel, Sadie, is getting quite spoiled. For the most part she loves it, but sometimes she does get annoyed and exerts her independence on us. Lol! She is no spring chicken at 16 years old, and my current hope is that she stays healthy for as long as possible. Losing Bailey has taken a toll on me, and at this point my broken heart couldn't take losing her also.
Before I get to my card, I wanted to mention that my Crafty Sale page is updated with lots of great deals! Neutral Butterfly card
Card size: A2 - 4.25" x 5.5" (inches)
FEATURED PRODUCTS - complete supply list, linked to multiple sources.
I created this card live awhile back on the Pinkfresh Studio YouTube channel, with a neutral color palette and the butterflies products that we carry. You can watch this card come together on my YouTube Live video below, but here is a quick run down of the work flow:
- Step 1 - Foil the butterflies to white cardstock & vellum (small) in copper foil.
- Step 2 - Ink blend the large butterfly image with the layering stencils.
- Step 3 - Do all the diecutting.
- Step 4 - Assemble the card as shown - you will have to trim some of the large butterfly off to make it fit.
- Step 5 - Accent with jewels to finish.
Quick Note: Foiling on vellum can be a little tricky. I've only gotten good results with a higher weight vellum at 167 GSM. Vellum doesn't typically use an LB weight, but 167 GSM equates to about 43-45 LB.
There are more images of these cards on my Instagram post. You can also check out my complete supply list below to multiple stores, or CLICK HERE to see it a bit easier. :)
