Happy Sunday, crafty friends! It's hard to believe that our long holiday weekend is coming to an end. I hope you've had a great one! Today I wanted to pop in and share this adorable card feauturing the Dancin' Penguin die set and a few other items from Spellbinders. I'm not big on interactive cards, but this one is super easy to make the feet dangle...and it is super cute!
Unfortunately, the Dancin' Penguin die set is out of stock at Spellbinders, but it is in stock at Scrapbook.com, where they currently have a 12% off coupon code (BLACKFRIDAY) and three freebies up for grabs. There are also a few available at A Cherry On Top which is offering a 20% discount code (BLACKFRIDAY) off regular priced products & shipping. They also have a selection of daily deals every day, and today I noticed a couple foil rolls at a great price, among other things!
However, the Infiinity Punch & Pierce Plate is only $10 at Spellbinders, normally $24.99. So huge savings, and they have a ton of amazing Black Friday deals as well. It just so happens that the Dancin' Penguin is sold out. All of the Black Friday sales will be coming to an end soon, so just wanting to share some fantastic savings while they last!
Happy Holidays card
Card size: A2 - 4.25" x 5.5" (inches)
FEATURED PRODUCTS - if you love my card & would like to purchase any of the products I've used, I would love for you to shop from my links! I earn a small commission at no cost to you, allowing me to contribute to our finances. I appreciate this gesture more than words can express!
Here is a quick overview of how to recreate this card:
- Cut & fold an A2 card base from white cardstock.
- Foil the sentiments in Skybright and Opaque Black foils to white cardstock. (Feel free to foil the leftovers with your solid hot foil plate to use on a different card.)
- Diecut the background die from light blue and white glitter cardstock. (I used the bubble mailer technique to capture all the details.)
- Diecut the Dancin' Penguin pieces, then assemble.
- Layer the background to the card front, popping up the middle section with foam adhesive to make an ice skating rink.
- Attach the sentiment to the lower right corner as shown.
- Layer three foam dots together to hang the feet on, and adhere to the front so they will skate on the rink.
- Add the penguin top to the front, using foam dots to adhere into place.
- Accent with Spectrum AB self adhesive crystals to finish.
The backgroud die that I used is a stitching die set, but I'm a firm believer that you don't have to do the stitching. It's a bit too time consuming for me, and I don't find it particularly enjoyable. But I think the pattern looks lovely without the stitching, so I never shy away from the stitching plates even though I will never stitch them! Lol! ;)
